FREE, 60-minute Public Library Association (PLA) Webinar on how libraries can leverage physical activity as a tool to engage with patrons.

Summary:

Research shows that participating in youth sports can lead to immediate and long-term
benefits for youth, their families, and communities. While star athletes are few in between, and
not every person has an inherent love for sport, it’s undeniable that physical activity and sports
have an incredible ability to transcend boundaries and bring communities together.

In this 1-hour webinar, we’ll explore how libraries can leverage physical activity as a tool to
engage with patrons. This webinar is perfect for children’s librarians, youth librarians, and
anyone interested in learning about an innovative digital resource aimed at promoting equity
and access to quality physical wellness education for all. By integrating sports-themed
activities, workshops, and resources into their programming, libraries can create dynamic
spaces where young minds flourish and community bonds strengthen.

Adam Shafer, Chief Growth Officer at Hiveclass, shares a thoughtful presentation inspired by
his experience in education and non-profit work. Digging deep into the benefits of physical
activity and wellness, as well as the connection between sports and diversity.

Ili Erster, Marketing Director at Hiveclass, talks about various programming ideas for libraries to
consider, including in-person and at-home suggestions. This includes equipment substitutions,
