Summary:
Generative AI is changing how students discover, evaluate and engage with information. As generated answers increasingly replace direct interaction with original sources, academic librarians and faculty face new challenges and opportunities.
In this session, experts in information literacy and news literacy will explore how AI is reshaping student engagement with news and information and discuss frameworks and strategies for guiding students toward effective and responsible use. The session will also include a brief Clarivate perspective on connecting students with trusted news sources through ProQuest Newspapers. Participants will gain practical insights for supporting source evaluation, critical thinking, responsible AI use and news literacy in teaching, learning and research.
