Like many colleges and universities across the country, Miami Dade College (MDC) in Florida was forced to rapidly pivot to support remote learning due to COVID-19. But even before the pandemic, ebooks and audiobooks were instrumental to student success at MDC.     Associate Professor, Learning Resources DepartmentMiami Dade College

    Adria Leal is an Associate Professor, Sr., in the Learning Resources Department at MDC Wolfson Campus Library. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Thomas University and earned a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. She has served as an instructor for the LIS2004 Strategies for Online Research course, and as a student mentor. She is the library liaison for the Law Center, the Fashion Institute, and MAGIC: Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex. She is also a member of the Dade County Library Association.

    Christina Machado Dillon is a Learning Resources Professional for Miami Dade College, Learning Resources, at the Hialeah Campus. She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Florida Atlantic University and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Library Information Science from Florida State University. Prior to joining Miami Dade College in 2016, Christina worked for the Hialeah Public Libraries, first as Collection Development Librarian and later as Library Services Supervisor. In addition to her current position, she has also served as an instructor of Intro to Online Research. Christina is a native Floridian, born of Cuban immigrants. She enjoys spending time with her family, and if time permits, reading and watching classic films. She hopes to instill the same love of reading in her children.

    Steve Kronen is a faculty librarian at Miami Dade College. His collections are Homage to Mistress Oppenheimer (Eyewear), Splendor (BOA), and Empirical Evidence, (University of Georgia Press). His work has appeared in The New Republic, The American Scholar, Poetry, Agni, APR, The Antioch Review, Little Star, Subtropics, The Southern Review, The Sewanee Review, The Yale Review, Image, New Statesman, Plume, and elsewhere in the US and the UK. Awards include an NEA, three Florida Individual Artist fellowships, the Cecil Hemley Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America, the James Boatwright Poetry Prize from Shenandoah, and fellowships from Bread Loaf, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conferences. He received an MFA from Warren Wilson College. Steve lives Miami with his wife, novelist Ivonne Lamazares. His website is www.stevekronen.com.
