How are librarians finding solutions that meet end user and institutional needs?
Summary:
Over the past two decades the shift from physical to electronic resources has impacted all aspects of librarianship. A focus on end users has and continues to remain a constant priority, as libraries serve an institutional mission that encompasses everyone – students, faculty, researchers and more. Those inside the library continue to adjust to a rapidly changing resource landscape, while trying meet increased expectations from end users, work within library budget constraints, and address unexpected events such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this special session we’ll hear from Rutgers University Libraries librarians about how they have faced their respective challenges by embracing, adopting, and maximizing the use of various solutions. We’ll hear about their institutional goals, and how the tools they use offer opportunities for simplification, provide more efficiency, and meet end user, library and institutional needs better than before. The discussion will primarily focus on their use of Ex Libris solutions to improve library value and increase institutional impact.
