  Jill Adie, PhD

  Head of Publishing StrategyNature Journals

  Jill Adie is Head of Publishing Strategy – Nature Journals, at Springer Nature based in London, UK. She has a PhD in structural biology and BSc in pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh, and previously worked as a clinical trial Project Manager at Quintiles, then as a Science Communication Product Manager at Springer Nature. With over 10 years of experience working in STEM publishing, Jill currently manages the new Nature launches, and the Nature Reviews portfolio of journals, working closely with editorial, production, sales and marketing teams to ensure the Nature Reviews titles provide best-in-class service for authors and readers.

  Laura Zinke, PhD

  Chief EditorNature Reviews Clean Technology

  Laura joined Nature Reviews Clean Technology as the launch Chief Editor in 2024. She began her editorial career in March 2019 for the launch of Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, commissioning and handling articles across the biogeosciences and environmental sciences. She also undertook locum positions as an editor at Nature Communications and as a Senior Publishing Manager, focusing on environmental and sustainability sciences. She completed her PhD at the University of Southern California and a postdoc at the University of California Davis, studying microbial carbon cycling in sediment and soils. Laura is based in the London office.

  Alex McKay, PhD

  Chief EditorNature Reviews Biodiversity

  Alex obtained her PhD from the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia, where she conducted research in the fields of animal behavior, animal physiology, and disease ecology. Alex’s editorial career began in 2016 at Nature Communications, where she handled ecology and zoology papers. In 2020 she moved to Nature Ecology & Evolution where she was responsible for areas of basic ecology including biogeography, community ecology, theoretical ecology, microbial ecology, and disease ecology. She worked briefly at Nature Reviews Earth & Environment where she commissioned and edited environmental science, ecosystem ecology, and biogeochemistry Review articles. She also served an Advisory Editor assisting the launch of a Nature partner journal, npj Biodiversity, from 2021 to 2023. In January 2024, Alex became Chief Editor leading the launch of Nature Reviews Biodiversity. She is based in the New York City office.
