Last December, Toward Inclusive Excellence (TIE) invited four terrific guests to discuss AI-related ethics, upskilling, and inclusive artificial intelligence. The panel included Karim Boughida, Dean of University Libraries at Stony Brook University, Keith Webster, Helen and Henry Posner, Jr. Dean of the University Libraries at Carnegie Mellon University, and Kim Nayyer, Edward Cornell Law Librarian, Associate Dean for Library Services, and Professor of the Practice at Cornell University. The guests joined moderator Alexia Hudson-Ward, Associate Director of Research, Learning, and Strategic Partnerships at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Libraries, to share their thoughts on approaching ethical AI usage and preparing library staff for the adoption of AI tools and programs.

The one-hour program was a huge success with excellent feedback and audience engagement, and the recording currently has over 2,100 views. Attendees and speakers shared resources—journal articles, books, tutorials, exercises—in development or current use that can be accessed in our webinar attendee and speaker resource list.
