TIE Preview of Upcoming Reads in Sports & Leisure Studies, 2026

Given the popularity of TIE‘s “Preview of Upcoming Reads” feature, our editorial team has decided to increase its frequency from bimonthly to monthly. This means a whole host of new topics and twice as many new books to anticipate and peruse. For August, we are introducing a new topic: sports & leisure studies. Titles in this list cover histories of segregation in sports and leisure, current inequities in sports, and the impact of gender and sexual identities on players’ and fans’ sports experiences.
