TIE Preview of Upcoming Reads in Media and Technology Studies, 2025

Media and technology shape every facet of our lives—from how we communicate and learn to how we work and govern, including how people of color and others with marginalized identities are treated. Understanding both through a DEIA lens is therefore critical. The following list of forthcoming titles in media and technology studies reflects a growing commitment to interrogating the power structures, cultural narratives, and systemic biases embedded in our digital and media landscapes. These works not only explore the transformative potential of emerging technologies and media forms but also emphasize the urgent need to design and critique them with equity and justice at the forefront.
