Commemorating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
To commemorate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, the Toward Inclusive Excellence team gathered TIE content and Choice resources from the past year that highlight Asian and Pacific American scholarship. Choice, the publisher of TIE and a publishing unit at the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association, provides book reviews to help librarians identify academic sources and professional development tools like webinars, podcasts, and white papers.
Established as a week-long celebration in the late 1970s, “Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month” grew to an annual monthly observance in 1992, the statute declaring: “Asian and Pacific Americans have contributed significantly to the development of the arts, sciences, government, military, commerce, and education in the United States.” We hope this collection aids in learning more about AANHPI scholarship and research this month and throughout the year.
