Choice and Wiley have teamed up to create a new survey report for academic librarians that examines how academic libraries are navigating the transformative agreement landscape and offers insights into their roles, challenges, and progress.
This survey report, Transformative Agreements, Open Access, and Research Impact, stems from a research project that explored institutional objectives related to research visibility, impact, and the advancement of open access. During Summer 2025, Choice (a publishing branch of the Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association) and Wiley, a global leader in publishing, education, and research, fielded a survey to assess librarian and institutional familiarity, perceptions, and support of open access publishing, funding, and support. Presented in this report are findings from that survey designed to assess the role that U.S.-based academic libraries play and the sentiments they have toward institutional research priorities, including open access publishing objectives and the adoption of transformative agreements (TAs).
