About the guests:

Andrew Carlos

Andrew is currently one of the STEM/Web Services Librarians at CSUEB, where he works with the Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Geology and Psychology departments. His main focus is on the web presence of the library and the implementation of new technologies in support of better connections with students. He also does information literacy instruction through the campuses required General Education course, Library 1210, and through various course integrated instruction.

He’s also interested in the user experience of the Library – from the design of library spaces to how patrons use those spaces. His current project is tracking the use of library furniture, as well as looking at Library tours and scavenger hunts and searching for an alternative method. He is also a Board member for the California Library Association, where he Chairs the Academic Interest Group.

Danielle Rapue

Danielle Rapue is the Systems and Assessment Librarian at Pasadena City College. Her role focuses on supporting and maintaining access to library technology and the collection, analysis, and communication of library data. Danielle also provides reference support and library instruction to her campus community. Prior to working in libraries, Danielle worked in market research for 6 years as a recruiting manager, facilitating qualitative and quantitative research for a private sector company based in the Silicon Valley. Danielle received her M.S. in Library and Information Science degree from San Jose State University iSchool in 2016.

Ray Pun

Ray Pun is a doctoral student in educational leadership at California State University, Fresno. He has previously worked at Fresno State, New York University Shanghai, and The New York Public Library: Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. Ray has presented nationally and internationally and has published widely including four co-edited volumes such as The First-Year Experience Cookbook and Asian American Librarians and Library Services. Ray’s research interests include high impact practices in academic libraries and first year students’ information seeking behaviors. You can also tweet him at @raypun101.
