Recapping Sage’s Critical Thinking Bootcamp for AI Literacy

Two librarians discussing AI literacy at a Bootcamp

Chat with your colleagues or take a quick glance at LinkedIn, and what quickly becomes apparent is that many people are theorizing and debating the proper relationship between education and AI. New York City recently placed a moratorium on it in elementary and middle schools, and AI policies in higher ed, often left to individual instructors’ discretion, run the gamut from total ban to full embrace. Where everyone agrees, however, is that AI has made it even more important to develop students’ critical thinking skills.

Last month, Sage and Choice partnered to host Sage’s seventh annual Critical Thinking Bootcamp, focusing on timely issues that demand and frustrate critical thinking. This year’s Bootcamp centered on AI literacy. The proceedings and resources from this Bootcamp are free to access, so we wanted to take a minute to highlight some of the practical offerings. It was Choice’s great privilege to be a part of the Bootcamp, and we hope you can find plenty to take away from it.
