What role does the library play in open access publishing? Last month’s series provided insights into the ways publishers can support libraries with the transition to OA and how many agreements begin with an education on current opportunities and ways to facilitate library outreach. The series also included an update on Taylor & Francis’s Pledge to Open, a collective funding pilot to publish open access books. Our speaker described the pilot’s launch, its focus on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and how T&F guides libraries toward joining the pledge. Our guest further explored the differences between OA in Europe and the Americas, along with T&F’s plans regarding artificial intelligence.
