Conversations about the lifecycle of scholarly communication

It’s clear that artificial intelligence has made waves in the library and academia as a whole, but how did we get here? Last month’s guest chronicled the evolution of library technology, detailing the extensive list of projects he’s been involved with throughout his career. Our speaker also examined how librarians’ roles have changed because of new tech, considering how library work can remain relevant. January’s Episode

Last month’s episode featured Eric Lease Morgan, Digital Initiatives Librarian at University of Notre Dame’s Hesburgh Libraries. Eric joined the program to follow up on his job profile for Choice’s library technology content vertical LibTech Insights (LTI), walking us through several tech milestones in the library. Our guest underscored the difficulty of prioritizing content in today’s information-laden landscape and explained the benefits of his project, The Distant Reader. Eric also discussed the development of the collective group Code4Lib and explained why AI literacy is crucial for librarians.

What’s Coming Up in February
