Resources for College Libraries (RCL), the bibliography of essential titles for undergraduate libraries, seeks subject editors

Are you passionate about collections? Do you want to apply your bibliographic selection skills to a Choice/ACRL publication? Resources for College Libraries (RCL), the peer-reviewed bibliography of essential titles for four-year undergraduate libraries, is seeking subject editors for the following disciplines:

· Environmental Studies
· General Language and Literature
· General Science
· Latin American History
· Mathematics
· Native American Studies
· Other Literatures in English

Resources for College Libraries: Career Resources, the bibliography of essential titles for two-year community college libraries, is seeking subject editors for the following disciplines:

· Building and Construction Trades
· Engineering and Technology

RCL subject editors are responsible for the ongoing development of the disciplinary collection, with duties including:

· Selecting new title additions, including select web resources
· Updating, reviewing, and weeding current selections
· Maintaining and refining the subject taxonomy and scope note
· Responding to recommendations from peer reviewers
· Integrating advancements in disciplinary research, teaching, and scholarship

Successful subject editors balance extensive subject expertise, judicious bibliographic skills, and understanding of the undergraduate curriculum to develop the core bibliography of current and canonical works for academic libraries. This role involves a time commitment of approximately 30 hours/year, together with flexible deadlines and remote workflows. This is a professional service opportunity; subject editors also receive an honorarium for annual service.  The RCL editorial board is committed to pursuing equity and inclusion and seeks editorial participants with diverse backgrounds and new perspectives.
